apparently have no regard for the law. People like me are likely to get hit by a motorbike or a lori. We are also ignorant, and dangerous. Well not in my opinion, but that of the Police officer who decided running through a red light on my bicycle was an extreme criminal offense. Paired with my lack of proper ID, according to him, I should be arrested. Well it totally sucked getting a ticket, as it made me late for work, and that light, i run it every day (bc its a total waste of time to sit at). BUT, i couldn't help but feel like the situation was somewhat comical as i was getting told these ridiculous things by the cop. Honestly, when you look at me, I don't think threat to society and rebellious youth would come to anyones mind. The entire encounter was so stupid. Im not sure why I have to be asked what race i am when being given a traffic ticket, and a pointless question as i don't think they have the term hispanic over here. On the other hand, he did ask me if i was 5'7", which i was not surprised by, bc i myself know that i appear taller than i am (a whole 2 inches taller!). After i was handed my written proof of violating the law, i then proceeded to get the low down on what is mandatory for bike lights. Surprisingly enough, ahh well he didn't know what they were. He did let me know that i should, "do whatever I can to get noticed."
